Slimming World Salted Caramel Coffee Cake

Slimming World Salted Caramel Cake

This cake has been shared with me by Kelly Davies on Facebook and is DELICIOUS. I’m a big lover of coffee flavoured treats and this is my new favourite. It’s 24 syns for the whole recipe, and can comfortably be portioned into 8 slices which gives you 3 syns per slice.

Ingredients:

  • 150g of self raising flour (24 syns)
  • 4 eggs
  • Salted Caramel food flavouring 1/2 small bottle (usually 30ml as half of a 60ml bottle)
  • 4 Tablespoons of sweetener (I don’t syn this, but if you tweak, it’s 2 syns)
  • 1 Tsp coffee
  • Hot water
  • Frylight

Method:

  • Frylight a baking tin
  • Mix the flour, eggs and salted caramel food flavouring together.
  • Mix the teaspoon of coffee with some hot water so it’s dissolved, and mix in to the mixture
  • Pour into a baking tin and cook for 10-15 minutes at 190
  • Portion into 8 slices for 3 syns a slice.

  1. Do you think it could be made with chocolate flavouring? Something like options? Although I drink coffee I do not really like coffee flavoured food – weird I know! Any thoughts much appreciated. Thank you. Sarah

    1. Hi Sarah, I’ve never tried it with anything else but don’t see why it wouldn’t work with options. It’s just a cup of coffee thrown in there so should work the same with some sort of hot chocolate, if you try it let me know! X

    1. Hi Lesley, I toyed with the idea and have made it with and without and found no difference, I think the salted caramel flavouring has enough sweetness x

  2. Thank you. Gonna try this in the weekend. Since starting slimming world i have developed a sweet tooth. Im happy that this doesnt have Muller light (lots of the dessert recipes have that n i cant have it). Muller light has gelatine. Thank you once again, x

  3. Can this be done without coffee? If it wouldn’t work with just the salted caramel, an alternative? Not a big fan haha.

  4. I tried this cake, I used vanilla food flavouring as I could not get hold of salted caramel flavouring. I also used Tesco healthy living instant hot chocolate as I thought they would go together. It looks the same as the cake above but really has no taste to it. I am going to find the salted caramel flavouring and try it again with coffee as above. It did look nice it was just tasteless, but I am happy I gave it a go, as they say practice makes perfect.

    1. I have now made it again using the right ingredients, I can honestly say this cake is revolting, just like Toni said was like rubber and tasted awful had no sweetness at all to it and tasted of chemicals. Sorry but it was horrible.

  5. I like the valuable information you provide in your articles. I will bookmark your weblog and check again here frequently. I am quite certain I’ll learn many new stuff right here! Best of luck for the next!
