Food prep – Sweet Honey Garlic Chicken and Rice

Slimming World Honey BBQ Chicken

A perfect Slimming World recipe – maybe the easiest you’ll ever make, and it makes a great food prep meal. This recipe makes about 3 portions. I sometimes add chilli to this to give it a kick, that works too




What you’ll need:

  • Diced chicken breast
  • 3 tea spoons of Lazy Garlic
  • 2 large tablespoons of Honey (6 syns, but divided by 3 as it’s 3 portions worth)
  • Water
  • 3 teaspoons of soy sauce
  • Sprinkle of sweetener
  • Sprinkle of Sesame seeds
  • Brown rice
  • Veg (My fav is carrots, so this is what I’ve used here)

 

Method:
This sounds strange, but I’ve always found this recipe to be much tastier if you cook the chicken plain first (fry or bake) and then flash fry cooked chicken with the sauce as the below method.

  • Dice your chicken breast and cook separately to anything else
  • Spray some Fry light in a pan, and let it heat, once warm throw in the garlic and soy sauce and let bubble slightly
  • At this point, add in the cooked chicken
  • Toss the chicken around in the garlic and soy sauce and let it warm through
  • Now pour your 2 tablespoons of honey over the chicken, a small sprinkle of sweetener and begin to toss around again
  • Boil/microwave some brown rice and cook your veg, and place both in a freezable container
  • Place your chicken in top and sprinkle over some sesame seeds
